The Humboldt Coast – a Stroll Down the Centerville Beach

Walking on the beach in Centerville near Ferndale

Centerville Beach County Park

Humboldt County’s coastline is a stunning and diverse stretch of the Pacific, offering a unique blend of rugged beauty, serene forests.

In late June, we had our kids and Grand kids out visiting and we all went to some amazing beaches. Including Centerville Beach in Ferndale which was completely empty aside from some random deer.

After living in Southern California for so many years, it is absolutely stunning to see the serene Northern Coastline. The mist hung in the air and the sound of the waves rumbling kept steady pace while the wind was howling, blowing the saltwater mist into our faces.

With the dogs off their leashes, they were in heaven. Whenever we are able to take our dog off the leash, we make sure to keep a close eye on him so we don’t leave anything nasty behind. Luckily, Tempe does not go far and prefers to stay next to Andrew at all times.

If you plan to visit the beaches in Northern California, here are some tips:
Check the weather: Northern California’s coastal weather can be unpredictable, so check the forecast before heading out.
Pack accordingly: Bring sunscreen, a hat, and layers of clothing to adapt to changing weather conditions.
Respect the environment: Leave no trace and avoid disturbing wildlife.
Be mindful of tides: Check tide charts to plan your beach activities.
Stay safe: Always swim near lifeguard stations and be aware of potential hazards like strong currents.
Leave No Trace: Never leave anything behind.
