Spellbound in the Redwoods
Have you ever dreamed of spending your days surrounded by towering redwoods, sharing your passion for nature with visitors from around the world? As a volunteer at the Humboldt Visitor Center in the Redwoods State Park – Weott, California, we had the privilege of doing just that.
When we completed our volunteer position at Albee Creek Campground as Camp Hosts, we were offered the opportunity to volunteer at the Visitors Centers for the California State Parks in Humboldt County along the Avenue of the Giants. We had visited the center often taking advantage of the museum and information that supported us in obtaining as much information about the California State Redwoods as we could. As a result, it was an easy decision for us to take advantage of this unique opportunity.
We started out at Richardson Grove Visitor Center in Garberville, California. The stay was short but offered a great experience in preparation for our next gig at the Visitor Center on the Avenue of the Giants, which was much busier and had many more events.
